Our story
Four decades of neighborhood care
Hearthstone Animal Clinic was founded in 1982 as a neighborhood veterinary clinic in Northwest Houston. Over four decades later, it remains one of the most established animal hospitals in the Cypress, TX area, now under the ownership of Dr. Steve Pelton, DVM, who took over the practice in 2007.
Dr. Pelton is a graduate of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine with over 25 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery. As a solo-doctor practice, every patient, from a puppy's first wellness exam to a senior dog needing surgery, is seen personally by Dr. Pelton. That continuity of care is a defining feature of the clinic.

Dr. Pelton earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and has practiced in the Northwest Houston and Cypress area for over 25 years, focused on small animal medicine, surgery, and preventive care.
He acquired Hearthstone in 2007 and runs it as a solo-doctor practice, providing continuity of care that larger multi-doctor practices often cannot match. He is trained in laparoscopic, minimally invasive surgical techniques and offers therapeutic laser treatment for pain management and recovery.
