Text us — the fastest way to reach usMost visits start with the $67 exam — getting a lump or symptom looked at begins there. X-rays, labs, or sampling add to it, and you'll always get the estimate before I do anything. No surprises.

Order refills and food through our online store and we'll have them ready or shipped. Heads up: some meds need a quick check by Dr. Pelton first, so order a few days before you run out.
Bring your pet in the morning with whatever they're currently taking. We'll get your number and the reason for the visit, I examine them during the day, and you'll hear from us with what's going on — and what it'll cost — before I do anything.
Common questions
One throw-up and your pet's still bright, eating, and drinking? I'd watch them — hold food a few hours, then small bland meals. Bring them in if it keeps going past 24 hours, there's blood, they're a puppy or kitten, they can't keep water down, or they seem painful or weak. When in doubt, text me.
Most lumps I see turn out fine — but I can't promise you that without looking at it. If it's new, growing, or changing, get it checked. I can usually put a needle in it right there in the room and tell you a lot the same day. Don't sit on one that's changing fast.
Depends on age and lifestyle, so I tailor it — I won't push shots yours doesn't need. Puppies and kittens get a series; adults run on a one-to- three-year schedule depending on the vaccine. Not sure what's due? Text us and we'll check the chart.
I usually reach for Heartgard for heartworm and NexGard for fleas and ticks — or NexGard Plus, which rolls heartworm, fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms into one chew. Plenty of other good products work too; what matters is using something year-round, because in Houston the fleas and mosquitoes never really quit.
Bad breath is usually the first sign of dental disease, and honestly most dogs and cats have some by age three. I'll look in your pet's mouth at the next visit and tell you straight whether a cleaning's worth doing. Catching it early keeps it cheaper and easier.
I score every pet on a 9-point body condition scale — the BCS chart. Quick home version: if you can't feel the ribs without pressing, or the waist is gone when you look from above, your pet's probably carrying extra. It's the most common thing I see, and it's fixable — I'll give you a real target and a plan.
Depends on what it was and how much. Text us now with what they got into and roughly how much — texting is quicker than waiting on the phone. If you can't reach us or it's after hours, call ASPCA Animal Poison Control at (888) 426-4435, and for anything serious head straight to VEG in Katy.
If it's a true emergency, don't wait on us — if you're reading this, we're probably slammed and can't pick up fast enough. Go straight to VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) in Katy. They're built for it: oxygen, monitoring, and critical care around the clock. Signs that can't wait: trouble breathing, collapse, seizures, a bloated hard belly, can't pee, pale gums, or a known poison.
