When to Call for a Same-Day Appointment
You don't have to know if it's an "emergency" to call us. If something feels off with your dog or cat, trust that instinct. Common reasons clients call us for same-day visits include:
- Vomiting or diarrhea that's been going on more than a few hours
- A pet that's stopped eating or seems unusually lethargic
- Eye discharge, redness, or squinting
- Limping or sudden difficulty walking
- Suspected wound, bite, or injury

How a Same-Day Visit Works
We don't take walk-ins, and that's what makes same-day work. Text or call first. If there's an open slot you get a regular appointment; if there isn't, you drop your pet off in the morning and Dr. Pelton works them into the day between scheduled visits. That's our same-day drop-off, and it's how most sick pets get seen here.
Bloodwork and X-rays are done in the building, so a drop-off usually ends with an answer the same day. Nothing happens beyond the exam until we've texted or called you with what we found and what it costs.

No. Every visit is scheduled, either a regular appointment or a same-day drop-off arranged by phone or text before you come in. That's how sick pets get worked in the same day.
How early should I reach out?
As early as you can. Drop-offs are worked in through the morning, so a text at 7 AM beats a call at 4 PM.
Where are you, and is there parking?

Will I know the cost before treatment?
